Modbus Data Logging: PLC History and Fault Traceability
Challenge
PLC alarm histories are often too short to preserve the complete operating conditions around an intermittent failure. Service teams need selected process values over days or months, not only the final alarm code.
Solution
An IR200 recorder periodically acquires selected Modbus registers, applies engineering names and units, and stores the results as CSV files on a local TF card. Data can be retrieved over the network without removing the recorder.
